A Busy Summer

It has been a busy summer here at Broadland Literary (hence our recent blogging break) but good things have been happening and the future is looking bright.

Over the past few months, we’ve had the pleasure of welcoming not one, but two talented new authors to the Broadland Literary team. Rachel Hruza writes eclectic, genre-spanning middle grade and young adult fiction, while Ashley Turcotte is a truly exciting new voice in fantasy fiction. You can find out more about them both on our updated authors page.

We also recently took part in author Michelle Hauck’s “In With The New” pitch contest, aimed exclusively at new agents, which was a lot of fun. Contests like this not only showcase the work of up-and-coming authors, they also highlight the supportiveness of the online writing community. It was a pleasure to take part in the contest and we hope to get involved in many similar events in the future.

In the meantime, we’re being kept busy with revisions, edits, submissions, and many, many other things, but we’re still open to queries and we’re actively looking for new authors – particularly those based in our local area (the East of England) or elsewhere in the UK. The publishing world moves slowly, and we’re taking the time to carefully build our agency and our list of authors to make them the best they can be, but we hope to have even more good news to share soon!
