The Summer Of YALC

If you’re looking for something fun to do in the UK this summer, then look no further. Following last year’s incredibly popular and successful inaugural event, YALC (that’s Young Adult Literature Convention) returns this summer with an even more impressive line-up of YA authors than before.

Originally organised in association with Book Trust – a charity dedicated to transforming lives by getting children and families reading – YALC formed a key part of Children’s Laureate Malorie Blackman’s campaign to champion books for young people. Last year’s event was the first ever large-scale public literature convention dedicated entirely to YA books to be hosted in the UK, and this year it returns by popular demand.

Taking place at the London Film and Comic Con from Friday 17 July to Sunday 19 July, YALC 2015’s exciting programme of events includes panel sessions, hands-on workshops, drop-in activities, and book signing sessions with all authors taking part. This year, those authors include Cassandra Clare, CJ Daugherty, Charlie Higson, Darren Shan, Derek Landy, Holly Smale, James Dawson, Judy Blume, Louise O’Neill, Patrick Ness, Sally Green, and Teri Terry, to name just a few!

To find out more about YALC, including how to book tickets for this year’s event, visit or follow @yalc_uk. We’re going to be taking a summer blogging break now (returning in September), but to everyone attending YALC this year, we hope you have a wonderful time. And to everyone else, we hope you have a wonderful summer!
